In September, this oil won a gold medal at the national Sydney Royal Fine Foods Show in the 'Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, Class 2 (Small Commercial Class, Volume between 200-4999 litres)'.*
But we've known how good it is for a long time. We first started buying Karrabool Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Botobolar, near Mudgee, in December 2012 and we've watched David and Judy's skill and quality (and their list of awards) grow each year.
Karrabool Extra Olive Oil reflects the seasons and is a blend of Tuscan and Greek varieties - Correggiola, Leccino, Frantoio and some Koroneiki.
Available in 375 and 750 ml bottles and three litre tins. Store in a cool, dark place and seal after opening.
*Sydney Royal judges comments: Overall a very strong Class with many
outstanding oils. The best oils were, as always, fresh and
complex with levels of bitterness and pungency that matched
the intensity of olive fruit. Many oils had the added pleasure of a
delightfully lingering finish.
