This linocut is a portrait of a lovely Large Black heritage-breed pig, born and bred at Spring Grove Farm, NSW. It's part of our collaboration with Sydney artist, Mirra Whale.
This is one of three teatowels - there's also the Burraduc buffalo and the Sommerlad Heritage chook.
We've long admired Mirra's work. Her portraits have been hung in the Archibald Finalists gallery in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 and her images of everyday objects and food are exquisite and poignant. She's also an excellent cook.
Screen printed in Marrickville with water-based ink on hemp and organic cotton fabric that softens beautifully over time. Each teatowel has a little fabric loop in one corner for easy hanging.
